Organizations
Organizations let teams collaborate under a shared account. An organization owner invites members, assigns licenses to grant full feature access, and manages the team from a central dashboard.
Creating an Organization
Navigate to Account > Organization and create a new organization. You become the owner and can immediately start inviting team members.
One org at a time
Each user can belong to only one organization. To join a different org, you must leave your current one first.
Roles
Organizations have three roles with different permissions:
| Capability | Owner | Admin | Member |
|---|---|---|---|
| View members | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Invite members | Yes | Yes | — |
| Remove members | Yes | Yes* | — |
| Assign/remove licenses | Yes | Yes | — |
| Change member roles | Yes | — | — |
| Manage billing | Yes | — | — |
| Edit org settings | Yes | — | — |
| Delete organization | Yes | — | — |
| Leave organization | — | Yes | Yes |
*Admins cannot remove other admins or the owner.
Inviting Members
Admins and owners can invite new members in two ways from the Members page:
Email Invites
Enter an email address and choose a role (admin or member). The invitee receives an email with a link to accept. Email invites expire after 7 days.
Invite Links
Generate a shareable link that anyone can use to join. Invite links expire after 30 days and don't require the invitee's email in advance — useful for sharing in a team chat or onboarding doc.
Accepting an Invite
- New users — Click the invite link, create an account (or sign in with Google/Apple), and you're added to the org automatically.
- Existing users — Click the invite link while signed in and you'll join immediately.
- Already in an org — You must leave your current organization before accepting a new invite.
New members join as unlicensed by default. An admin or owner must assign a license for full feature access.
Managing Members
The Members page shows all organization members with their name, email, role, license status, and join date.
Search and Filter
- Search by name or email to find specific members
- Filter by license status: All, Licensed, or Unlicensed
Member Actions
From the member list, admins and owners can:
- Assign license — Grant a member full feature access (Studio-level). Requires available seats.
- Remove license — Revoke a member's license. They revert to their personal subscription tier.
- Change role (owner only) — Switch a member between admin and member roles.
- Remove from org — Remove a member entirely. This also frees up their license if they had one.
Batch Operations
Select multiple members to assign or remove licenses in bulk. The system validates seat availability before processing batch assignments.
Licenses and Seats
A license grants a member Studio-level access to all features. Licenses are not automatic — admins must explicitly assign them.
Each organization has a seat count that determines how many members can be licensed at the same time. The Members page shows the current count (e.g., "5 of 10 licenses assigned").
- Members without a license keep whatever personal subscription they have (including free tier)
- Licensed members get Studio-level access regardless of their personal subscription
- If all seats are in use, you'll need to increase your seat count before assigning more licenses
Pending Invites
The Members page also shows pending invites — invitations that haven't been accepted yet. Admins can:
- View the invited email, role, and expiration date
- Revoke an invite before it's accepted
Duplicate invites to the same email are prevented.
Organization Settings
The owner can access Settings to:
- Rename the organization
- Delete the organization (requires typing the org name to confirm). This removes all members and revokes all licenses permanently.
Navigation
Organization management pages are accessed from the Account section:
- Account > Organization — Dashboard with quick links
- Members — Member list, invites, and license management (admin/owner)
- Billing — Subscription and seat management (owner)
- Settings — Organization name and deletion (owner)
Offline Behavior
Organization management requires an internet connection. If you're offline, management actions are disabled with an explanatory message. Your existing license and feature access continue to work offline in the desktop app.
