Appearance
2D Layout View
The 2D Layout view provides a top-down view of your LED installation using real-world physical dimensions. Use it for measuring, cable routing, and creating accurate layout documentation.
Navigation
- Pan — Click and drag on empty space, or use middle mouse button
- Zoom — Scroll wheel, or use the zoom controls in the toolbar
- Fit to screen — Click the fit button or press the keyboard shortcut to frame all screens
Panel Positioning
Panels are positioned based on their physical size in millimeters. You can:
- Select panels — Click to select individual panels, or drag to select multiple
- Move panels — Drag selected panels to reposition
- Nudge — Use arrow keys for 1mm movement, Shift+Arrow for 10mm
Measurements
The 2D Layout view provides measurement tools:
- Ruler guides — Reference lines along the edges
- Grid snapping — Panels snap to a configurable grid
- Dimensions — Physical dimensions are shown for screens and the overall layout
Cable Routing
The view shows cable paths between panels based on your data path and power path configurations. Cable lengths are calculated automatically for use in the BOM.
Background Image
You can add a background image (e.g., a venue floor plan or rigging plot) as a reference layer. This helps you position screens accurately within the physical space.
Export
From the 2D Layout view you can:
- Export PNG — Render the layout as an image
- Export DXF — Export as a DXF file for CAD software (Studio plan)
The DXF export includes panel outlines, screen boundaries, and dimensions — ready for import into AutoCAD, Vectorworks, or other CAD applications.
