Sharing Projects
LED.FYI lets you create shareable links to your projects for client review and collaboration.
Share Types
Client Share
A read-only link that lets clients view the current state of your project. They can see the configuration, views, and equipment details without being able to make changes.
Docs Share
A snapshot of your project documentation — includes a PDF-style view along with a read-only project link. Useful for sending finalized plans to clients or colleagues.
Creating a Share
- Go to File > Share Project in the toolbar
- Choose the share type (Client or Docs)
- Optionally add a custom title
- Optionally set a password for protection
- Click Create Share
- Copy the generated URL and send it to your client
Share URLs follow the format: led.fyi/s/{code} for Client shares, and led.fyi/s/{code}/docs for Docs shares.
Password Protection
You can require a password to access shared links. When password protection is enabled:
- Visitors see a password gate before viewing the project
- Only people with the password can access the content
- The password is set when creating the share
Expiration
Every share automatically expires 90 days after creation. Expired shares stop working for viewers and are eventually removed from your account by a daily cleanup job.
Managing Shares
The share dialog (File > Share Project) shows the shares for the currently open project, where you can copy URLs or revoke individual shares.
To see and manage shares across all your projects, open the Shares tab on your Dashboard. From there you can:
- Browse all shares — paginated list of every share you've ever created, with status (Active / Revoked / Expired)
- Bulk revoke — select multiple shares and revoke them in one action
- Copy or open any share URL
- Track usage — see how many of your plan's active shares you've used
Share Limits
Cloud share limits apply across your entire account, not per project — for example, a Pro user can have up to 50 active shares spread across any number of projects.
| Plan | Active Cloud Shares |
|---|---|
| Free | 0 (upgrade required) |
| Pro | 50 |
| Studio | Unlimited |
Revoked and expired shares do not count toward this limit. If you hit the limit, revoke shares you no longer need from the Shares tab on your Dashboard, or upgrade your plan.
What Clients See
When a client opens a share link, they see a read-only view that includes:
- Project name and summary
- Screen configurations and panel types
- Equipment details and specifications
- BOM information
- Visual previews
They cannot modify any project settings or access other projects.
View in AR (Spectacle)
You can preview your LED screens at full scale in augmented reality using Spectacle, our free companion app for iPhone and iPad. It places your screen layout in physical space so you and your clients can walk around the design before anything is built.
There are two ways to open a project in Spectacle:
- From the editor — choose View in Spectacle (AR) from the Project menu. A dialog shows a QR code; scan it with your iPhone to open the project in AR.
- From a share page — Client and Docs shares created with AR data show a View in AR button. On an iPhone with Spectacle installed, tapping it opens the app directly.
To include the current on-screen content (test patterns, media) in the AR view, tick Include AR textures (Spectacle) when creating the share. This renders and uploads one image per screen, so it makes share creation a little slower.
AR links use the format led.fyi/ar/{code} and stay valid for the same 90 days as the share. AR sharing is available on paid plans. Get the app or learn more at spectacle.fyi.
Units in Shared Links
Docs share links preserve the distance and weight unit preferences (metric/imperial) that were selected at the time the share was created. Clients will see measurements in the same units you chose.
Saving and Sharing
The project is automatically saved to the cloud before creating a share link, ensuring the client sees the latest version. If you make changes after sharing, the share reflects the state at the time it was created — create a new share to send updated information.
