Submitting Panels to the Library

If your panel type isn't in the built-in equipment library, you can submit it yourself. Community-submitted panels become available to all LED.FYI users.

How to Submit

  1. Go to the Library page at led.fyi/library
  2. Make sure you're signed in
  3. Select the Panels tab
  4. Click Submit New
  5. Fill in the form and click Save

Your panel will appear in the library immediately. Community submissions are shown alongside official entries, but only panels verified by the LED.FYI team display the verified badge.

Required Fields

FieldDescriptionExample
BrandManufacturer nameROE Visual
ModelPanel model nameCB5 v2
Pixel PitchDistance between pixels, in millimeters2.84
Pixel WidthHorizontal resolution in pixels176
Pixel HeightVertical resolution in pixels176
Physical WidthCabinet width in millimeters500
Physical HeightCabinet height in millimeters500
WeightPanel weight in kilograms7.5
Max WattageMaximum power draw at full white, in watts150

These values are typically found on the manufacturer's spec sheet or product page.

Optional Fields

Panel Shape

Most panels are standard rectangles, but the library also supports specialty shapes for creative installations:

  • Half Horizontal — 50% height (used for edge rows at top or bottom of a screen)
  • Half Vertical — 50% width (used for edge columns at left or right of a screen)
  • Quarter — 25% size (used for corners where two half-panel edges meet)
  • Triangle variants — Diagonal-cut corners (top-left, top-right, bottom-left, bottom-right)
  • Rounded variants — Rounded corners (top-left, top-right, bottom-left, bottom-right)

Parent Panel

When submitting a non-rectangular panel like a half or quarter variant, you should link it to its full-size parent. This is how LED.FYI knows which panels go together.

For example, if you're submitting "Absen PL2.5 Half" (a half-height version of the Absen PL2.5), you would:

  1. Set the shape to Half Horizontal
  2. Use the Parent Panel Type dropdown to search for and select "Absen PL2.5"

The parent panel dropdown is searchable — type a brand or model name to filter the list.

When a parent panel has linked variants, the app can automatically offer half-panel edge rows and columns in the screen setup.

Actual Pixel Count

For non-rectangular shapes like triangles or rounded corners, the width times height doesn't equal the real number of pixels on the panel. Enter the true pixel count here so that string and wiring calculations are accurate.

Leave this blank for rectangles, halves, and quarters where width times height is correct.

Curving Properties

If the panel supports mechanical curving between cabinets:

  • Max Concave Curve — Maximum inward angle in degrees
  • Max Convex Curve — Maximum outward angle in degrees
  • Curving Built-In — Check this if the panel has an integrated curving mechanism (no external hardware needed)
  • Curve Increments — If the panel only supports specific angles (not continuous adjustment), list them as comma-separated values, e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

Description

Free-text notes about the panel — installation type, indoor/outdoor rating, or anything else worth noting.

Editing and Deleting

You can edit or delete panels you've submitted by clicking the pencil or trash icons next to your entries in the library table. You cannot modify panels submitted by other users or official library entries.

Tips

  • Check if the panel already exists before submitting — use the search bar on the Library page
  • When submitting a half panel, submit the full-size parent first if it doesn't already exist
  • Pixel pitch, pixel resolution, and physical dimensions are the most important values for accurate simulation results — double-check these against the manufacturer spec sheet
  • Weight and wattage affect the BOM and power distribution calculations, so accurate values help with planning
