Accounts & cloud overview
LED.FYI is a full design tool on its own: everything you draw, wire, and export works without a network connection. The cloud layer on top adds the things that need a server: your account, projects that follow you across devices, share links for clients and crews, teams, and billing.
What the cloud gives you
| Area | What it does |
|---|---|
| Accounts & signing in | Sign in with Google, Apple, a passwordless email link, or email + password. Email verification and Terms acceptance. |
| Your account & profile | Display name, photo, password, cookie preferences, a full data export, and account deletion with a 7-day grace window. |
| Cloud projects, history & autosave | Continuous cloud autosave for paid plans, open-from-cloud on any device, named versions you can restore, project links. |
| Sharing projects | Anonymous view-only links (a 3D previs for clients, a PDF drawing package, or an iOS augmented-reality handoff) with QR codes. |
| Teams & roles | One shared team per user, owner/admin/member roles, and seat licenses that give members full Studio access. |
| Plans, billing & what each unlocks | Free, Pro, and Studio: what each plan allows, and how upgrading and billing management work. |
Signing in is required
On the hosted app (app.led.fyi) and the desktop app, the workbench is behind a sign-in gate: there is no guest mode. A returning user with a cached session goes straight in, even with no network. Share links that you send to clients are the exception: they open for anyone, no account needed. Sign-in links and Google/Apple sign-ins hand the app a one-time code, never your session, so nothing that could sign someone in as you is left in the address bar or your browser history.
If a sign-in doesn't go through (an expired link, Cancel pressed at Google or Apple), the sign-in page says so with a notice explaining what to do next, rather than staying silent; see Accounts & signing in.
Working offline
Losing the connection never stops you working. The app keeps autosaving locally, the File menu footer switches to Offline (will sync when back online), and the next successful save catches up. The desktop app additionally keeps a paid plan active for up to 30 days offline via a signed license: see Working offline and the offline license.
INFO
A build with no cloud configured at all (for example, running the app from source without credentials) shows none of these surfaces: no sign-in gate, no account menu, no share/team/billing dialogs, and everything is unlocked. This page and the rest of the section describe the real hosted deployment, where the cloud is always configured.
