Reference
This section is the app-wide fine print: the pieces of LED.FYI that work the same way in every workbench. If you're looking for how a specific feature works (screens, wiring, sheets, exports), head to that feature's own section; come here for the machinery underneath it.
Commands & keyboard
- The command palette (⌘K): every action in the app, searchable from one place, with the full command catalog. If you only read one reference page, read this one.
- Keyboard shortcuts: the complete keymap: global keys, per-workbench keys, mouse gestures, and the built-in
?cheat-sheet.
Editing model
- Undo, redo & versions: how undo works (one gesture = one step), what it never touches, and how it relates to saved versions and the Edited marker.
- Fields & numeric input: the one commit contract every Inspector field follows: live stepping, buffered typing,
Mixedvalues, and how field edits land in undo history.
App settings
- Preferences: the app-wide settings dialog (language, units, wiring colours, cable stock presets) and where its choices are stored.
- Units of measurement: metric/imperial display and how the app handles units.
- Languages & translations: the ten UI languages and how to switch.
- Theme & appearance: light, dark, and system themes.
Your data & help
- Cookies, analytics & data stored in your browser: exactly what LED.FYI keeps on your machine and what it sends where.
- Troubleshooting: fixes for the most common "why isn't this working" moments, and how to report a problem with the exact build you're running.
- 3D can't start in this browser: what to do when the 3D tab shows a card instead of your wall (hardware acceleration, drivers, remote sessions), and what "This view hit a problem" means.
